Poetry & Art – April 2021
Summer sun warms my smiling face/ Verdant land, I slow my pace/ Remembering back on all my days.
I once did shelter, firmly, in place/ Only to find myself more locked away/ The gate was there, and so was I/ I had eight swords surround my mind.
Lurking, I found a key on the ground/a bronze finish, I naturally bent down/ Squinted, took a good, hard look at it/ Felt each ridge/ The weight in my hands/Felt the call, the sound of birds in the distance/ Then, a mountain breeze entered my space/ I saw them towering, a memory erased/ By the constructs of this three-dimensional plane/ It brought me back, my heart, and my flame.
